Robot Realtors are one way home builders are meeting the need for social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, even though real estate is still a “people business,” the industry is doing its best to make it possible to buy or build a home with as little personal contact as possible.
“We are doing the same measures as other builders on that end — phone, FaceTime appointments and video chats so that people don’t need to meet in person,” said Tiffany Caine, director of sales and managing broker for Parkside Builders.
The company is the developer of Waterford Village in Hendersonville and Oxford Station in Gallatin. Parkside’s other neighborhoods include Parkvue in Bellevue, The Village at Carter’s Station in Columbia and Gardens at Three Rivers in Murfreesboro.
Goodall Homes began using robot Realtors at its model homes in Durham Farms in Hendersonville and other neighborhoods last year.
The robots resemble a Segway with an iPad on top. A team of sales agents operate Goodall’s robots, called innovative sales consultants, remotely and interact with customers from their home offices. Customers see and speak with a person, but there’s no personal contact. In addition, the company is offering live video tours, video conferencing, telephone appointments and FaceTime appointments.
