Dripping Springs ISD Earns Top Marks

For families with children, finding the right homeroom can be just as important as the home itself. Luckily, families at Headwaters will be able to attend schools in Dripping Springs ISD, which has earned top grades for its academics, athletics and community involvement.

For the last three years, DSISD has been a state finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Large District of the Year Award, and in 2017 they were one of the top five finalists. It also routinely earns high scores for all schools in the district from Children at Risk, a non-profit organization that advocates to improve quality of life for Texas children. DSISD boasts a consistently high passing rate, with 90% of high school students passing all five end-of-course exams. Here are the top-rated schools that Headwaters’ youngest residents will attend.

Dripping Springs Elementary School

One of four elementary schools in Dripping Springs, Dripping Springs Elementary School was given an A-rating by Children at Risk in 2017. The school is committed to academics, fun and educational events like science fairs, movie nights and other programs that get kids excited about learning. ESL, Gifted and Talented and academic support programs ensure that every child gets the attention that they need. Dripping Springs Elementary School is also proud to be nationally recognized as a The Leader in Me school for their emphasis on fostering leadership characteristics in their students.

Dripping Springs Middle School

Dripping Springs Middle School works to meet the needs of its students with a rigorous academic program that is designed to foster creative problem-solving and productive decision-making skills. Advanced math, Pre-Advanced Placement courses and electives like Entrepreneur Workshop and Small Engine Mechanics are just a few of the ways Dripping Springs Middle School challenges their students. Extracurriculars like band, theater, student council and numerous sports options encourage their students to develop their character beyond academics.

Dripping Springs High School

Ranked one of the top 150 high schools in Texas by U.S. News & World Report, Dripping Springs High School has one of the highest completion rates in the state, with 99% of students graduating and 92% planning to pursue higher education. In 2016, the school also received more than $5.2 million in scholarship offers and logged more than 46,000 hours of community service. Dripping Springs High School offers a wide variety of extracurriculars, from athletics and cheerleading to choir and FFA, so students can explore any number of interests during their high school career.

Dripping Springs High School was also the first high school in Texas to implement a portfolio program, measuring the preparedness of its students for post-high school endeavors. The Pride in Portfolio Program has helped countless Dripping Springs Tigers seamlessly transition from high school to the next chapters of their lives.
