Find Your Orchard Ridge Home

The new year is a time for new goals, whether you want to spend more time with family, perfect a favorite recipe or finally move into the home of your dreams. Now is a great time to become an Orchard Ridge resident, with our Amenity Center already open, the first residents moving in and the community starting to really take shape. While there are hundreds of things to consider when deciding to purchase a new home, here are five big ones to consider:

  1. Home Prices
Over the past few years home prices have increased at a historically high rate, and according to the Case-Shiller index, it is quite likely that this trend will continue. Purchasing a new home now means you could get a better price on the same home than in a few years. Plus, a home is an important financial investment, and if prices do continue to rise that means your home could appreciate in value.
  2. Mortgage Rates
Mortgage rates are historically low right now, but it’s expected that the Federal Reserve will put in place stricter monetary policies in 2018, increasing mortgage rates as a result. By purchasing a home now, you can lock in these extra-low rates and save tons of money in the long run. Instead of having to pay more in interest, you can put that money towards something you really want, like granite countertops, a soaking tub or hardwood floors.
  3. Changing Schools
Orchard Ridge residents have access to the A-rated Leander ISD, but changing schools partway through the year can be scary and disruptive for kids both academically and socially. Purchasing a home early in the year means you can get them enrolled in their new school in time for the next school year, avoiding a midyear transfer and making the whole moving process easier.
  4. New Amenities
While the Orchard Ridge Amenity Center is open for tours, the Grand Opening Event is planned for Spring 2018, so if you purchase a home this year you’ll be able to enjoy everything Orchard Ridge has to offer from day one. Work up a sweat at “Core” Fitness Center or on the nearly two miles of trails, cool off and relax at the resort-style pool, let the kids burn off some steam at the splash pad or even try out your green thumb in the Community Gardens.
  5. Be a Founding Member
As one of the first residents at Orchard Ridge, you’ll have some special opportunities. Orchard Ridge’s Lifestyle Director plans a year-round calendar of events and activities that are tailored to residents’ interests. You’ll be able to help shape the kind of community you want to live in, whether that includes group workouts at the Fitness Center, mommy get-togethers in the Orchard Park Activity Center or community-wide picnics in the Community Gardens.
