2021 at Headwaters: Lifestyle Programming You’ll Love

Life at Headwaters, a new home community located in Dripping Springs, Texas, is unlike anywhere else. Stunning, modern new homes offer convenient and Earth-friendly living, while a plethora of resort-style amenities and 1,000 acres of open space make it easy to relax and enjoy nature. But it’s not just the homes and amenities that make Headwaters a wonderful place to call home – the people play a big part. Our Lifestyle Director, Remi Almani, has done a fantastic job bringing residents together to create connections and build a sense of community. She does that through a year-round calendar of lifestyle events and activities.

Last year, programming at Headwaters had to shift to accommodate social distancing and the COVID-19 pandemic, but that didn’t stop Remi from keeping life at her community fun. “Favorite events pre-COVID included Explore the Outdoors, which was a day of adventures at HW Central including a mobile cave, axe throwing, gem digs in the tot lot and a trail mix bar. Razzle Dazzle was also a hit! It was an event for adults with cocktail classes and mixing stations, live jazz music, and a chocolate and cheese buffet,” said Remi.

“After the lockdown, residents have really enjoyed the various parades and grab-and-go bags we have offered, like summer fun kits and DIY fall candle kits,” she continued. “In the fall we did a S’Mores and More Trail Hunt, where kids were sent out on the trails in search of various treasure stations, and everyone enjoyed the s’mores kits available for pickup complete with tiny campfires. In the winter we had Santa go around Headwaters in a horse-drawn carriage, a hot cocoa and cookies bar, and our Mistletoe Market where adults enjoyed hot apple cider cocktails while their kiddos picked out presents for them.”

This year, Remi is focused on continuing the fun lifestyle additions and connecting residents to each other. She’s also looking to find new ways of bringing homeowners together in our ever-changing environment, and is hoping to start transitioning to small, in-person gatherings as well as offering virtual and socially distanced options.

“I have a phased approach to increase the size of gatherings through the year,” said Remi. “It’s my goal to adapt to the pandemic while still offering an abundance of lifestyle offerings and ways for current and future homeowners to connect, whether in person or virtually.”

Remi already has a whole host of events planned for 2021. “We have Coffee on the House, where homeowners can enjoy a fresh-brewed complimentary cup, and kids can pick up their grab-and-go winter bags that include unicorn hot cocoa and instant snow kits,” she said. “Coming up, we have a drive-in singalong movie showing Frozen 2, where Elsa, Anna and Olaf will be doing socially distant meet-and-greets and passing out treats! I also have a Find Phil scavenger hunt planned for Groundhog Day, and a Sweetheart’s Cinemas Under the Stars romantic drive-in movie on Valentine’s Day where lovebirds can enjoy complimentary gelato.”

Remi is very excited about planning more parades for the coming year. They’ve been a huge success in the past, and residents love to see each other on the sidewalks. But in particular, Remi likes that it’s an event that future residents can attend, even if they haven’t moved in yet.

“I would love for future residents to know that they have a team of people working hard to ensure their community feels truly like home,” she said. “Even during the pandemic, we have stayed active in hosting a variety of offerings for every age and interest level, while continuing to connect homeowners together.”
